Proper feeding of beetles

Raising beetles is a fun hobby, but it requires some specific knowledge and preparation. Here are some basic guidelines to help you properly care for your beetles:

1. Choose the right variety
Common feeder beetles include:

Female insects (such as Taiwan blackworms, Amazon insects, etc.)
Scarab beetles, rhinoceros beetles, etc. Choose the breed that's right for you and learn about its characteristics and needs.

2. Prepare your living environment
Rearing container: Use a well-ventilated terrarium or glass tank that is large enough for the beetles to move around.
Substrate: Use a non-toxic substrate such as humus or sawdust and maintain appropriate moisture.
Hiding Places: Provide some hiding places, such as bark, wood, or small holes, so that the beetles feel safe.

3. Feeding
Food: Provide appropriate food depending on the type of beetle. Common foods include:
Humus (such as wood or dead leaves);
Fruits (e.g. apples, bananas);
Special feed (available on the market).
Water source: Provide a humid environment, but avoid stagnant water. You can use wet wipes or water beads to increase humidity.

4. Temperature and humidity
Maintain appropriate temperature and humidity, generally most beetles prefer an environment of 20°C to 25°C. A heating pad can be used to regulate the temperature.
Humidity is generally maintained between 60% and 70%, but varies depending on the variety’s needs.

5. Daily care
Clean the container: Clean the breeding container regularly to remove leftover food and excrement to prevent bacterial growth.
Observe behavior: Observe the behavior and health of the beetles regularly and deal with any abnormalities in a timely manner.

6. Reproduction
If you are interested in breeding beetles, you can learn about their breeding habits and provide the right environment and conditions.

7. Safety precautions
Make sure the enclosure is away from direct sunlight, heat, and cold.
Be careful to avoid contact with other pets or insects to prevent injury.
